An exquisite vintage leather deed/writing box is estimated to be from around 1860. It is made from stunning black leather and features solid brass hardware. The box securely fastens with a top quality BRAMAH lock, although it does not come with a key. Inside, you will find ink and light, as well as two metal nibbed pens and a removable tray. This particular box belonged to Joseph Crawford Davies, an accountant from Wales in 1861, as shown in the attached picture. Absolutely beautiful piece! looks superb on the desk and organises everything
