A lovely antique travelling hatbox. This marvellous piece is crafted from brown canvas with leather trimming and solid brass hardware - lovely warm hues and very ‘old money’. The case has a simple striped canvas lining and most unusually it still retains its original tray. It dates back to around 1920, when it was more normal to travel with your hats. The hatbox carries an absolutely delightful brass makers plaque depicting a bird carrying a trunk in its beak. The hatbox is a lovely size and would make a lovely storage solution in the home - and what a conversation piece it would be!
